Should I Compete In a Fitness Show?

Here's the truth about competing in a bodybuilding/fitness show from my perspective. Let's start off with it's a lot of damn dedication, which for those of you who are interested in this topic already know that which is why you're reading this post. As a bikini competitor and having my fair share of shows I realized the training wasn't the hardest part. The hardest part was the mental aspect because you are pushing yourself to the limit and are very restricted on your eating habits. The first and last week are some of the most difficult times when dealing with the diet. Another thing is you spend a lot more money on prepping for the show and you do not get any money in return unless you are a professional competing at the highest level. NOW let me tell you why I enjoyed competing. I like the challenge and self discovery you make while on prep because you learn more about yourself and discipline. Another thing is I loved getting up on stage and showcasing how hard I worked during the months while on prep. Plus who doesn't love all the bling, makeup, hair, and glamour of a competition it's so fun getting dolled up! When it comes to stepping on stage remember to always put your health first as competing can take a toll on your body. This is my experience from competing in shows, it has its pros and cons just like anything else.
