10 Secret Tips to Stay Fit Mentally and Physically During the Winter Months

Winter is here! I am going to tell YOU my 10 secrets on how to beat the winter blues and start working on your health before the new year!

1. Make Yourself A Priority

Set a time you WILL workout and create a habit of including strength training and cardio into your exercise routines. No one ever regretted a great workout, so let's get those endorphins pumping!

2. Pick a Day to Prep Your Meals

I set a day where I prepare my meals for the next few days. The winter months are where people tend to fall off on their nutrition because of the holiday treats and comfort foods. However, if you plan your meals then you will have no excuse, but to stay on track.

3. Read a Book that Will Help You Improve

READING is cool, so go be a nerd and learn something new. Read books that will help you master your craft, even reading for 5mins or 10mins a day can help you improve. My favorite books are self improvement, business, and psychology books.

4. LISTEN to Someone Who is More Successful Than You

What I mean is learn from somebody who has what you aspire to be like, and learn how to get to their level of success and beyond. How I do this is by listening to podcasts, watching Youtube videos, and meeting people who are in my industry, and I learn from them. (Read my previous blog titled Do You Need Motivation? if you need suggestions on who to listen to!)

5. Cut Off Negativity

Plain and simple you don't need negative sh** in your life. Anyone weighing you down? Tell em BYE Felicia! Focus on the important things and people that matter, which leads to the next tip below.

6. Surround Yourself With Supportive People

Make sure your inner circle of people support you and your goals. Seek people who are like minded as you. Also remember it is just as important to support them as well, it's called ROI or return of investment. They invest time into you and you do the same. Most importantly it's called being a decent friend and good human being, so show some support!

7. Make a Short Term Goal

Creating a short term goal this winter is great, because once the new year rolls around you have already accomplished a goal instead of waiting till January 1st. Don't wait, just do.

8. Treat Yo Self

Treat yourself for your hard work you have accomplished so far. Whether that means buying that new pair of shoes or having a spa day. Show yourself some love yall!

9. Follow Social Media That Is Positive

Let's face it we all spend a lot of time scrolling down our social media. I think social media is a great way to see what's going on with people, connect, and learn new things. However, sometimes you have to clean out your social media. The beauty of it is that if someone posts negative things all the time there's a button called unfollow. Positive vibes only! (Refer back to Tip #5)

10. BE GRATEFUL

You have the opportunity that others may not have. You have the opportunity to workout, eat healthy, help others, learn new things, etc. Everyday wake up feeling thankful because you have the opportunity to live a wonderful life, so don't waste it!

There's my 10 secrets! Hope these tips help you with starting your fitness journey during the winter months. Be sure to like this post if you found my tips helpful. Thank you!
