Thanksgiving is tomorrow! You know what that means Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing OH MY! So many calories and I know what you are thinking "How in the hell am I going to be healthy with all these holiday festivities?" Today I list my method of creating a balance, so you won't feel like that stuffed turkey this season. Put your stretchy pants on and get ready for what I have to say about the holidays.
-Eat In Moderation
Let's say you have fitness goals you want to accomplish, but still want to enjoy the feast. Here's what I would do stick with the lean white turkey breast meat, eat the veggies on the table, put smaller portions of the various side dishes like stuffing, potatoes, etc. Then, for dessert cut a smaller piece of that pie or just don't eat dessert. This comes down to self control.
-Stay On Your Workout Regimen This Holiday Season
I know it's colder out and you could name every excuse in the world not to exercise. Don't be lazy, plain and simple get your workouts in during the holiday season. That way when you do have those feasts you'll still have that balance with fitness and won't feel guilty about enjoying that meal.
-Eat Healthy On the Days the Holidays Aren't On
It all comes down to discipline and staying on track with preparing healthy meals on the days the holidays do not fall on. This will help you enjoy the holiday season and still maintain that hot bod of yours!
-Enjoy The Holiday
Thanksgiving is one day out of the year. IF you are not preparing for a bodybuilding show, sporting event, physical activity, career opportunity that requires you to be at your optimal shape, or a very strict goal you are dieting for, then RELAX and ENJOY the holiday. You won't become fat after one meal lol. After all, the holidays are surrounded by food and enjoying each other's company with the people you care about most, so do that!
I hope you enjoyed this post on how I would handle the holidays. All I know is I am going to enjoy that turkey leg tomorrow, spend time with my family, and put those stretchy pants to use!
