What No One Tells You About: Waist Trainers

2017 the year the waist trainer became a fitness trend. You see it advertised on social media by all kinds of fitness gurus. I'm going to tell you what I think about waist training in today's blog.

What is a waist trainer? It's similar to a corset. Some celebrities have made the waist trainer become a popular item on the fitness market by wearing the waist trainer to promote fat loss and shape an individual into obtaining an hourglass figure, which many women desire to have.

Here's my reasoning on why I think waist trainers are NOT beneficial. When wearing a waist trainer, it essentially is squeezing your organs together. First of all, why on Earth would you want to squeeze your organs together? This does not help with digestion and can even affect how you breathe, since the waist trainer is restricting you. Breathing properly plays an important factor while performing various exercises, and it does not make sense to me to be restricted by wearing a waist trainer. Another point is, obviously when wearing a waist trainer it is going to make you sweat since it's surrounding your torso, but that's just water weight you are losing from sweating, no body fat is lost there.

The BEST and SAFEST way to lose body fat is by proper nutrition, exercise, consistency, and most importantly it takes TIME. Look I know there are body image pressures among society, but do not compare yourself to others. TELL YOURSELF "I AM AWESOME!" Embrace the body you have, love yourself, and remember health is wealth. Just focus on improving your overall health, get stronger, stay consistent, and you will see results. Thanks for reading my thoughts on this fitness trend, have a great rest of the week!
