Free Weights or Machines?

Free weights or machines? Clients tend to ask me about which equipment is better. In today's short blog I tell you what I think about it!

Well, both are beneficial it depends on what you prefer and your own personal goals. Machines tend to help with keeping your form. Some machines have a cable pulley system to assist with resistance while performing the exercises. I tend to use machines with clients when they are starting off on their fitness journey, so that way they learn proper form and build a strong foundation before moving up to free weights. When using free weights gravity plays a major role while lifting the weights, and you tend to use more stabilizer muscles as well. Form is especially important when using free weights, so knowing how to do exercises properly is essential. My opinion is both are great tools for helping to lead a healthy lifestyle and build strength. As long as you are staying healthy and active that's what matters!
