Check Your Energy: Why Positivity Matters During Hard Times
Do you have a positive attitude? Are you giving others positive energy after talking to them? I hope you are, but if you're having a hard time staying positive when things are hard I am going to give you three ways to increase your positive energy. In today's blog I am going to discuss the power of being positive during times of your life that might be very difficult.
We all go through hard times in life and endure situations that can even be life changing. Humans feel emotions whether we want to or not. People endure periods in their life where they are happy, sad, stressed, etc. it's all a part of life. I've always found the human brain incredibly interesting and powerful. The way we think and how our nervous system interacts with a human's daily activities and body functions is amazing. As someone who has endured a very difficult chapter in life I am going to share how I stayed positive when things were not going so great.
1. Check your energy. What are you feeding your mind? What I mean is are you incorporating positive things in your life? For example, when I was going through hard times I began to read self improvement books, listen to uplifting podcasts, made sure on my social media I followed positive people, hung out with people that have a great attitude on life, etc. Perhaps take up an old interest or hobby you enjoy that makes you happy. For example, working out, dancing, drawing, etc.
2. Practice gratitude and enjoy nature. In today's busy driven society we often forget to take time out of our day to say what we are grateful. Also people need to take a step away from the cell phone and look up at the sky around them. There's beauty in the simplest things, we just have to seek it.
3. Acknowledge your emotions, feel your emotions, but do not let your emotions control you. What I mean by this is it's okay to feel emotions that are not positive, as long as you do not let negative emotions control your attitude and outlook on life. The biggest thing I learned is to talk out your emotions with someone you trust and learn to let go of any negativity. This is hard to do, but once you learn to let go of negativity I found it is quite freeing.
I hope that when you read this it reminds you of how to maintain a positive attitude during the hardest times. Remember tough situations do not last and whatever difficult roadblock you endure you can get through it. Do not give up and keep going. You become a strong person through hard times and if you maintain a positive attitude it can help ease the tension of a difficult situation. Stay positive, smile, and breathe. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
